MaybeKermit 4,483
Im sooo so happy. Watched Anora for a second time last night with my friends. It is such a wild and fun unpredictable ride ! One of the funniest movies I’ve seen in recent year and Mikey’s performance was outstanding. She really gave it her all!!! (Literally put hee pvssy into it lmao£ Edited March 3 by MaybeKermit

My point was that she 1.) still worked, 2.) picked bad movies (though PS I Love You would fall under mediocre instead of bad). Like, I'm not even her hater and feel whatever about her, so don't care to beef with you about Hilary Swank, lol.
gumzy3000 7,118
Demi had the performance of her life in The Substance and she also had the narrative, she should have won. She was robbed! I fear she won’t have another chance, I think she was really hoping to close out her career with this win. The Substance is an extreme body horror film and it’s not a secret the Academy hates horror. Anora was easier to digest so Oscar voters likely voted for Mikey even if they haven’t seen Anora. Either way I’m really disappointed, Demi campaigned so hard for this. trolly troll troll
Borisapillar 8,767
Mikey blew Demi out of the water and was appropriately awarded for it

She didn't let her career pass by until she herself let it. You don't have to be constantly Oscar nominated to have your career matter. Like it's insane to me that you'd throw her name out there as someone who won this award TWICE and then intentionally chose to step back. SlaeUrAnus 15,839
Slightly disappointed as Demi was phenomenal in The Substance. At least it got to show her true talents though. Hopefully she gets another Oscar nomination soon. In my messy era.
OMF 3,405
Good on her but I did feel bad for Demi. She has been in the business for decades and this was the first and maybe only chance at an Oscar.

There's obviously a demand from the GP to see more of her after the amazing reception from the Golden Globes speech Edited March 3 by butthole 2
