Not to be a hater, but I feel like we'll never see Mikey again, what a random result, kind of Hilary Swank-ish, though, that said Hilary won a second time just to go back into obscurity, so..

Also, this is the second year in a row I've been disappointed by the Best Actress race (Justice for Lily Gladstone). I think I'm going to start ignoring the Oscars again.

I'm hoping this means a career renaissance for Demi. She's such a compelling actress. Casting directors need to be sending her more scripts.

I hoped she would win too, but I'm not surprised because The Substance was so over the top. It's basically a B-movie with Hollywood accoutrements. I LOVED it, but this awardshow just isn't this movie's ballgame.

Kinda happy she won, she was very good and will hace a long career. Demi moore was good but a horror satirical film was never gonna win… the real robbery is fernanda torres. Im still here and her specifically in it, was the most moving film last year. But overall Anora was a close second for me so im happy

Hilary stopped acting to care for her father after he had a lung transplant, not because she faded into obscurity

Mikey absolutely deserved it! Anora was such a good movie and she was incredible

Mikey was incredible in this movie but in comparison to Demi or Fernanda who maybe won't have so many opportunities again unlike Mikey I'd much rather had seen one of them take the trophy. So many female-driven female narrated stories have become underdog-record breaking - breaking-the-glass-ceiling type of cultural phenomena, yet they all are being left in the corner by these type of A-list award shows. Barbie, brat, The Substance ... they all should have won BIG game if you just take the public response and into consideration

I’m still in shock that Demi didn’t win but Mikey and Anora started winning a lot of stuff lately so it was a possibility. Very happy for Mikey she gave an outstanding performance and she deserves it, also wanted her to win but Demi a bit more. Like I said in another thread this is one of those times I wish there were ties. 

Edit: I also have yet to see I’m Still Here. It just came out here so haven’t had the chance to watch it but can see that Fernanda also did amazing.
