danbekim 3,037 Posted yesterday at 02:49 PM Share Posted yesterday at 02:49 PM What a wasted potential. I don't know the last time I listened to the album version Here's my favorite remix of the demo: If you have some rad remixes you made laying around, send it to me!!
gagzus 15,355 Posted yesterday at 02:57 PM Share Posted yesterday at 02:57 PM Demo or no demo, the song is my fave off Chromatica. I think wasn’t this the first song she wrote for the album? Since the original album title was this.
Seby Mayuri 34 Posted yesterday at 02:59 PM Share Posted yesterday at 02:59 PM For me the Demo is superior 🙈 Glad that it leaked
Starmie25 15,826
Hot take: The summery, warm vibe of the studio version matches up better with Gaga tbh. Edited 23 hours ago by Starmie25

culturalbaptism 2,394
Chromatica had so much more potential: Haus Labs ad version of Babylon Demo of Free Woman and for the love of Godga, longer songs. They literally made this album for streaming and I hate that, the songs are short and don't achieve their full potential. Judas is coming. Let the cultural baptism begin.
Lucas 25,141
Free Woman and Rain On Me demo have a certain rawness that the album lacks. Also take it as a lesson to never listen to demos or leaks because if anything is different on the final studio version you'll just hate it no matter what! 1

But I can count Bad Romance as well. They cleaned up the sassiness of her voice in some parts witch I hate Judas is coming. hamartia 345
No shade but this is even worse than the album version imo the lyrics and the overall composition of the song are just... not it Edited 21 hours ago by hamartia

It really could have been THAT fun disco house classic but they decided to neuter it for streaming points. It’s sad bc Renaissance showed if you let songs do their thing it’s better in the long run. I also think they polished the album too much to be house. House music has a certain raw triumphant sensuality. It felt to *chrome* by the final product which also was so so bc Gaga’s voice itself has so much texture and intrigue these days. It worked for TF but at this stage in her career she needs to let songs feel a little crackly (disease’s beat being a great example)

There's something about TF production especially when going through the stems that have a slight messy and raw feeling even if it's "neat" but I can't put it into words. I think it reflects a lot of the stuff back then like half her outfits being barely held together by glue but it all works in the final vision

I was speaking more to her voice getting polished tf up back then but it was also probably easier to do so bc it was less developed and the songs were less demanding. That’s an interesting point about the productions, though. I think what it is is character. Her voice has so much character she needs productions that generally have them too. And a lot of chromatica sterilized that out
