Even so, I could at least somewhat accept the position or perspective of a Country wanting some degree of compensation that is proportional to the help given once they are back into their feet considering aid is significant

 

But $500B worth of minerals for $100B aid given? That is taking advantahe of a victim of war to essentially loam shark

 

I also wanna point out the $100B to $120B spent so far was in large part giving Ukraine old equipment while the US replaced new ones for itself rather than throwing it away. Plus most of it was spent on US weapons manufacturers so it had some stimulative effect on US economy

 

Even if a lot was old equipment and contracts went to US companiea, it is still helpful to Ukraine regardless dont get me wrong, and praise worthy when it didnt come with big strings attached when Biden offered it. But those details of how the aid was given matters if you run the narrative that you spent a fortune on their war effort and need 4X to 5X more compensation than what you gave

And then consider a lot of European countries donated their old stock and then bought American made equipment.

All in all, I wouldn't be surprised if we actually made a profit on that situation.

Shame Biden was smart enough to set that situation up but too ineffective at messaging to tell the American voters the reality that we were defending an ally, halting an enemy, and making money while we do it.

I’ve also decided to be very selective about where I shop. I no longer buy from companies who donate to the Republican Party. Which has made shopping extremely difficult… I’m appalled by the amount of companies that prop up these fascists.
