In the greek mythology maenads were women who joined Dionysus cult, they were blessed with some supernatural powers and among them is the power to enter themselves and the people around into ecstatic trance through music, later on through the frenzy of music, wine and sex, they sometimes killed the partners "death or love tonight".

They were defined as creature of "divine madness", they cause chaos, mayhem in the name of Dionysus.

Who is the lady in red in Abra?

Red the color of wine and death, could connect to these women but also might be connected to Pentheus, from Euripides' The Bacchae, in the story Dionysus chose Pentheus' disguise to be women clothes, mostly it's interpreted in the color red, to represent the wine of Dionysus or death.

In the story, he spied on the maenads  rituals, but when they discovered him they tore him apart and killed him.

And how the spell abracadabra matches this? Dionysus influence on these women and people in general was "spellbinding"  / "divine enchantment", he made people lose control over themselves and be devoted to him through sex, madness and death.

If you haven't watched this, please check it out. I'm an archeologist so I found the theories very convincing since they align with what we've been observing since the Bronze Age, heck, even the Neolithic :)

I kinda ignored him before lol but I'll watch it, let's see what he says.

Disease also borrows from the greek mythology, from Apollo/Asclepius prescriptive.
