Gaga and Bruno said themselves MANY times that Bruno called Gaga on a random evening and went to her home to let her listen to a song he was writing/had written (DWAS) and thats how Gaga got involved and wrote her verse

To be fair. "Perfect Illusion", "Come to Mama", and "Sine From Above" are all songs that weren't initially written or recorded by Gaga and only became *her* songs once she started working on them, rewriting, recording, and getting involved with production. Kevin Parker had "Perfect Illusion" majority formed when Gaga picked it up. Father John Misty practically had "Come to Mama" finished when she started working on it. "Sine From Above" was an Elton demo from 2014 that only got finished because Gaga was the one able to get in touch with Elton to finish it."Die With a Smile" she put more work into the writing, composition, and production than any of those.

How DWAS is not equally her song as much as Brunos I don't understand. Ownership of the song isn't based on who thought of it first, or who did the most work. If Gaga had the opening verse on the song and Bruno came second I grantee you everyone here would be saying it was Gagas song and Bruno featured. They are equal collaborators in the process. and everything that has been said by all involved validates that.

This whole argument is based on who had the initial idea so by the same thought process, Sour Candy is not a Gaga song since the initial concept did not come from her :triggered:

Imo I just don’t really feel her voice as a songwriter in this song in the same way that I do in a lot of her music. Yes, ofc it is technically her song and she ofc contributed to it, but my main umbrage is that it doesn’t really feel “Gaga” to me in the way that a lot of her other songs and ballads do (Speechless, Yoü and I etc).

I'm definitely being a bit obtuse :fan: and I totally understand what and you and others are saying. I just feel we should shift the narrative that this is "just" a bruno song where she barely did anything, it's probably going to become her biggest song ever, do we really want to perpetuate this notion that it isn't her song :cyanlights:

And don't get me wrong, DWAS is def not my fav, I find it very bland (I could say much more...), and it's been ages since I streamed it.

PS: I stream to Happy mistake all the time :ally:
