Algorithms dont need to rely just on things you ditectly searched but also on things that could be related

 

For example Lady Gaga fans are more likely to appreciate Cher than a random other person given they are both female pop icons who were highly polarizing and accentric.

 

There is a parallel there and algorithms have gotten sophisticated enough to understand related avenues
