Gaga is doing both this time so she'll host (do the monologue at the beginning, be in the sketches) and do the 2 performance slots as well
FreedomInTheMusic 435
I’ve waited for her to do SNL double duty again for YEARS! The fact she didn’t do it during ASIB still blows my mind, but I’m happy she gets another go at it since her ARTPOP days!

In season 50 Gaga is the third to do both. So it is not extremely common, and most who do also do have some acting props to be able to do both I think about 49 people have done it so far https://ew.com/tv/saturday-night-live-hosts-musical-guests/ 4 hours ago, elegidadedios said: AMEN!!! no I think it’s okay for us to be honest the bar is really low for us. The last few Gaga album cycles have been nothing compared to her first 3. We’ve seen her do 10x the amount of promo she’s done in the last 3 album cycles. And other artists , well into their careers, still have had amazing album cycles with tons of promo and success. with Gaga, the last few album cycles have not had big promo campaigns, meanwhile so many other artists are having big promo campaigns. With Gaga, we’ve seem to accept that we will not get promo - and any promo we DO get, we are grateful for and excited about but for many other artist, they’re doing/getting 2 or 3x the amount of promo Gaga does i understand if Gaga herself no long is interested in doing promo.. but to imply that Bobby went above and beyond by getting her to do SNL, it’s a reach imo. She did it for ARTPOP, was a musical guest for Joanne, chromatica was a complete non event , so we’re finally back to normal it feels . But yeah, weve seen Gaga do soooooo much more promo in the past. The bar is extremely low these days ….last decade actually Edited Wednesday at 04:15 AM by Controversiaga Pronounced like “Balenciaga” . Gaga could get the big herself😅. Is Bobby a Troy carter Genius ? Till now It doesn't seem like It. But he's doing a good job. Joanne's promotion was a bit strange, another round of cancellations with the video the bar tour, which we know Who was responsible. But She promoted It. And the focus has been mostly on her performance skills as a selling point. Her brand however became a bit old, She has missed all these new formats for promotion. Hot ones for example has been her for a long time. Shes basically done Zane Lowe, the vogues 99 questions. She used to be a trailblazer in these kind of stuff now She often Is sort of late. I still think It would be cool for her to pop on some podcasts. Something thats a fit ofc. She can be serious and interesting, She Just needs the right audience. Theres things that can be done with a good strategy so She doesn't work herself up. Which Is why we can't compare now tò 2010. It was too much. But even her performance era baked on vocals and show off talent... She didnt do tiny desk. It would have been Major of Someone like Gaga would come there some years ago. Why no jools Holland for a more serious format? Even bbc1 its been ages. It not the states but its super popular online. Honestly Bobby Is a professional but i don't think he really has the vision tò understand how tò pull off something out of the box. They kinda follow the stream and when her team and her try something new It doesn't quite work. Its not bad work its Just missing something at times to get to a really next level
StarstruckIllusion 51,658
I mean, nobody who complained about her attending the SNL thing over a late night show should be embarrassed lmao This SNL performance will give it a boost, but how bad will the song be on March 6th? #50 on the Spotify Chart? #50 prediction on the Hot 100…? - will it even go top 5 from that low?? But yall clearly don’t wanna engage on that fact, so don’t even gloat lmao Happy we’re getting a performance though! She always goes all out for SNL and Parris’ involvement is

Does host usually perform too? Sometimes! “Double Duty” is becoming slightly more common, but it’s still very rare. Only 49 musicians/acts have done double duty (out of 800+ hosts), only 8 have done it twice! It’s quite impressive to do because hosting is hard and intimidating on its own, and performing on that stage can be very unforgiving.

She always goes all out for SNL and Parris’ involvement is I rarely see big name artists do late night talk show performances anymore, they don't have the same impact as they used to. tiktok is the way to promote now, and SNL is the biggest thing exposure wise to preform on TV at this point. A late night performance/appearance would have been nice but basically pointless chart wise. Abracadabra is viral on tiktok/everywhere online, that's how you have a hit today, look at chappell roan, sabrina carpenter, Charli xcx or even bloody mary becoming a single over a decade later because it went viral lol Gaga hasn't truely been this popular to this degree in years, and you still manage to find a way to complain instead of savoring a great moment in her career. (Also putting so much extreme importance on chart numbers is silly but whatever.)

princedeeblebleble 952
Ohh this will shut up us complainersssss, so original Come on, SNL is the minimum you can expect from an artist on release week. Some of ya'll haven't been around in the golden age of music and it shows. But on a serious note, slay! Hopefully we finally get a Gaga calibre performance or two as far away from a piano as possible
