if Mayhem does well, do you think Gaga will still want to be an 'actress'?

I think she’ll still pursue both the same way she has been tbh. I just wish she’d do original concepts, not retellings (HOG), sequels (Joker), remakes (ASIB) etc. even though I did enjoy them. Haven’t seen joker yet though bc I haven’t seen the first one lol. 

I think what’s why she was so good in AHS. The countess was vaguely inspired/based on a real woman, sure, but it wasn’t a character made of her. She was a borderline entirely new character, with no preconceived expectations from viewers. She didn’t have anything to live up to or have to try to make her own without taking away from the already existing facts or storyline. She could just be a new character and take it where she wanted without worrying about straying from anything too much, because there wasn’t anything to worry about straying from, and I love that so so much. Is there still that rumour about her being in Tarantino’s final film? Doubt it’s true, even though I’d love that. Either way, if the next thing she does is another remake, biographical retelling, or sequel, I’m going to tear my hair out. Give me something new. Our girl can take it and run with it and absolutely KILL IT

edit: but I think everything will take a backseat if/when she has babies (and rightfully so, I’m not a fan of kids, but I think that parents should always put their kids before their career when they have the option to. You owe that to the little people you chose to bring into the world lol. So I certainly won’t be mad if that’s what happens. Disappointed from a fan perspective, sure, as we won’t be getting anything from her. But from a human perspective, I definitely won’t mind at all)

I completely agree with you! I think she chose those scripts in purpose to become somewhat approachable, easy way as those stories were known before her so the GP would like it no matter what (even tho joker turned out to have another direction lmao but you know what I mean)

I truly believe it's time for her to do an original script for a movie, but after the Joker fiasco, I picture her doing another safe movie (a remake, a biopic, etc) before jumping into original ones

To answer the title though, yes, I still think she'll want to be an actress regardless of MAYHEM's reception. She's a great actress and she seems to enjoy it a lot. I'd love to see her in another role that doesn't require any singing and something very different than her other three movies. Maybe she could capitalize off of MAYHEM and do something horror-related or something we've never seen her in before like a rom-com. I'd also like to see her in a film that isn't dependent on a male co-lead. I'd love for her to do a two-hander with a female co-lead or be part of a female ensemble.

I would have loved for her to have been cast in a Knives Out movie. Don’t know how popular the franchise will still be after the next one, but I could see her knocking it out off the park playing one of those really fun characters. And it’s an ensemble cast, so there will be less pressure on her but can still be a scene stealer. 

I mentioned Cher and Barbra earlier, and I would love to see her in a romcom like Moonstruck. Fun and comedic movies with a heart in it that still show off her acting skills. Good romcoms deserve a comeback.

I don't think she will give up acting, but maybe she takes a break from movies - I imagine her doing a series I think?
