as someone who works in marketing, I do appreciate them having a sense of humour, but damn, they are just wasting money on creating random memes that have NOTHING to do with their core business.

I know you will say to not be so serious but really Gen Z just be doing anything at this point

Agree! Feels like we’re in (or heading toward) an era where companies try to grab attention through pure chaos and shock value. Kind of like what Trump does—just keep saying wild stuff to stay in the conversation. For Duolingo, this ad might be working, but at the same time, it chips away at their credibility.

exactly, it was funny at first sure but now they seem corny af and make me cringe at their name, so don't know if that's a good thing lol

Didn't the whole thing started because you would get daily reminders to do your lessons? Maybe lots of daily reminders so the mascot was kinda like a stalker. Then they started answering comments on social media where people asked for their parents or pets back as they did their lessons. 

What happened after that was a mess but, in general, I think it's on brand :ladyhaha:
