Bronco 7,572 Posted yesterday at 12:22 PM Share Posted yesterday at 12:22 PM Love how every time Pop becomes the dominant chart genre the top names deliberately start fighting back against the dickheads in power. 2
CautiousLurker 17,715 Posted yesterday at 12:40 PM Share Posted yesterday at 12:40 PM I guess she didn't think Chappell's speech was pretentious Men are naturally more dominating, aggressive, and logical thinking because we have balls.

Lets be honest, independents artist have a hard time in the beginning, even artists like Madonna experienced this… it will not be enough to fund every single artist who is struggling by any means, but it is far from an insignificant contribution. insurance premiums in america are usually between $200 and $400 a month based off of the plan type you purchase - so it’s between $2,400 and $4,800 to be insured for the duration of the year. each of these donations are capable of funding 5-10 insurance plans for a year, between 15-30 people would be helped by these donations. the small scale that their donations will exist on exemplifies exactly where the moral and ethical failing of these labels is though - these executives with recording & distribution agencies profit millions a year off of art they do not make, while the artists making the art are typically in debt to the label (their employer) until their project has profited more than it was budgeted. even after the budget is recouped artists will often make less off of their work than their labels do, so for the first few years of being signed they are often just scraping by. (Gaga, for example, was bankrupt after the monster ball 1.0 and had to seek funding from LiveNation to revamp the show and keep touring until she was out of debt). these labels could easily add “employer sponsored health plan” to every recording or publishing contract and the loss of profit would be negligible while changing the artist’s quality of life completely. they are just choosing not to because artists are seen as disposable. xoxo go piss girl 1
