Abracadabra Audio Error

lul this reminds me of that part in Million Reasons where they obviously spliced two clips of her singing "I bow dooo-OOWN to prayyy"...

 

This audio click sounds like they used a longer audio clip with reverb on her vocal riff (it sounds like her voice) and chopped the reverb tail off but forgot to set the Declicking in the clip to bleed/fade smoothly after a cut (I don't know how to better describe all this, I make music but I don't know the jargon of the software lmao).

It's like sawing a big piece of wood and not sanding the edges smooth where you cut it, so it's all splintery.

I give up.

I have been producing for 7 years and developing my ears. I won't be painted up as crazy, the same way it happened with a song comparison this week. I know my skills and hate to have to bring it up because people choose to be dense instead of having a productive conversation. Not easy knowing that and also feel like I'm making a fool of myself.

I get this sound as well. I thought both my EarPods and headphones were having trouble but it’s the song.

I noticed this too, it’s quite cute though I like it. Love the semantics that that voice can’t be controlled and it’s like creeping into the next verse like it’s untameable.

it’s possible it’s part of the “eh” but just being cut off. It’s definitely the beginning of her making a vowel sound. Those ehs are a lot quieter in the mix though and volume of the click is more consistent with the volume of the louder “Abracadabra” and the waveform of the section almost lines up perfectly with the beginning of the word. Hard to say that conclusively though since I’m looking at filtered vocal waveforms
