Did Interscope Agree To Heavily Promote LG7 To Keep Gaga?

Im wondering... They seem to be putting a lot more resources into promoting LG7 than they did the last few eras

Some of it the smash of DWAS may have helped. It puts her back in map and has a higher chance of selling well

But im wondering if the supposed fact that it was her last album under her contract with Interscope played a role too :oprah:

Do you think they struck some kind of a deal that if she agreed to renew with Interscope theyd give this album heavy promotion?

Easy

Where did you find out about her deal with Interscope? 7 albums/18 years seems to be odd numbers. Did she renew before?

I do think that investing in her promo is going to attract her to renew her contract considering how Interscope owns her masters and renewing seems to be a win win for Gaga so later when she performs her old songs, it is much easier to license?

According to the twitter that leaked stuff (and got everything right) "Interscope has been excited about new music ever since Gaga finished up the Chromatica Ball..." so im sure theyre putting more resources for this era

She renewed before. I think her gift from Interscope was actually the horse “Arabella” back then. If I remember it correctly.

DWAS smashing this hard should've helped - but tbh Chromatica is the only outlier in her discography regarding the promotion. And even then, she still had playlisting support, which was the only promo that really mattered back then. She still had brand collaborations (remember the Adobe fan competition? :selena:) and her face was plastered on both AM and Spotify. I feel that it's just that her heart was clearly not there to the extent it is now back then.

I think it's Gaga's call at the end of the day. And she's coming for blood

Is there some reason my LG7 isn't here? Has she died or something?

Yes, she renewed just before Joanne, and they gifted her Arabella (RIP). She initially had a deal of 5 albums I think, and she renewed for 4 more so she should still have 2 more to go. I don't think she'll ever leave interscope (and imho she shouldn't).

Easy

And I do think professional people at labels have the ears and metrics to predict performance of future releases? Maybe they really believed in the music?

I read during ARTPOP or Joanne era someone from Interscope maybe Jimmy Iovine or someone said in an interview that a very popular artist did not spend enough time to breathe and recorded music on tour and the music was not so good and it was allegedly about Gaga. So I believe they have way to tell the potential of future releases.

I think they went all in with this single because Disease underperformed and it was really noticeable. That paired with Joker and Harlequin bombing, they needed a sure thing and put all their resources behind this to smash.

The only Gaga era that didn't recieve heavy promotion was Chromatica due to Covid though.

Psyduck

Probably just putting the effort they once had from Chromatica.
and She's doing pop again, its what Gaga is known for.

Also the biggest factor is I think Michael.

keep on looking for Psyduck

Honestly I think the main difference is how invested she is.

When has Gaga never been invested in a project she created?

She has always seemed extremely passionate about every era. The only times when fans talk about lack of promo is usually caused by unforeseen circumstances.
