Honestly after seeing the almost unanimous reaction to Trump's tariff threats in Canada, and how quickly it united Canadians, I realize now that America's cultural obsession with individualism has completely neutered its society.

When your country consistently encourages you to look out for yourself first and foremost, there is less urgency around collective rights. American society seems to be nothing more than factions of its people fighting to control everyone else.

It's sad as hell.

Sadly this seems to largely be a Universal problem of the "me first" doggy dog world. You see it to some degree or another in most Countries

But its definitely true that the US is among the Countries that push it to the most extreme

Imagine he does this and my student loans also get shut down :ladyhaha:

Nah they’re more likely to privatize the debt.

That's in Project 2025 if I remember correctly. It's gonna happen

Usually politicians straight up lie and break promises when in power.

This man LITERALLY made a whole manifesto of what he would do and EVERYONE talked about it and people are still acting shocked when Project 2025 is unfolding right before our eyes.

This may be the dumbest country on the planet.

I've seen countless redumbicans say that Project 2025 was fake propaganda against Trump on TikTok and that Trump has nothing to do with it :laughga:

He'll probably find some way to bring back debtors prison for the few of us that are educated or make us indentured servants since he's deporting a good chunk of our workforce :alsemanche:

That better mean that my student loan that's serviced through the Dept of Education is ALSO shut down.

it'll be sold to a private company owned by a donor then sent immediately to collections

Every new headline gets crazier than the last, and this is just in a few weeks.. Some people might not realize it, but this IS his strategy, talk so much wild sh*t that people lose track, this also creates a problem for journalists, they need to move on to the next topic constantly, this creates confusion and nothing is ever addressed properly, this also makes the effect of a more uninformed public.

I think this is not happening (but who knows anymore), but now people are rightfully talking about it because shutting down the Department of Education is WILD, meanwhile, the other insane sh*t is being done without much scrutiny by his sycophants, this is from a certain playbook that was crafted in the 30s :coffee: If nobody stops him I fear for the damage he will do on 4 years, for America and the world. Hope I'm wrong.

Honestly I think we're better off just living our lives as fully as we can right now, because I think the world is going to look very, very different by 2028.

I plan on spending this year travelling (already spending June/July in Italy and Iceland!), getting laid as much as possible, smoking all the weed I want and not wasting a second of my time during this calm before the storm. I think back to the pre-COVID years and I regret not living in the moment more, and I don't want to have the same regrets after Trump completely ruins our society lol
