What vinyl color do you all think fits the sound of the album best (after hearing it)?

I gotta say I think the *pink* fits the best. Wasn't expecting that.   :nick:

Amazing question....probably white or blue

IS NO ONE GOING TO HELP ME WITH THE POST OFFICE?!

Turns out listening to the album for the first time on a busy train was not the best setting.
I was not into Mayhem at all.
Being at home in my comfy clothes, being high and playing the album out loud is what I needed.
My opinion has changed entirely and I’m liking most of the album now. It’s gonna grow on me and I just know it

I know Gaga said she wanted to rerecord everything in the same sound as Perfect Celebrity and appreciate she did not do that. However.... I would love a Mayhem Monster where she does explore this more!! This song and sound suit her so much!!

show me to me please

My review after 4 listens :

Lady Gaga’s Mayhem isn’t just her best album—it’s a complete reinvention of expectations. Forget the industrial electro-pop of the lead singles; that’s just one of four distinct moods on this wildly diverse record. Gaga seamlessly weaves together Bowie/Prince-inspired ’70s funk, grunge-infused rock, sugar-rush pop, and breathtaking ballads, all tied together by some of the strongest songwriting of her career.

The production is bold, layered, and fully realized, making every track feel intentional and immersive. But Mayhem demands an adjustment period—this isn’t an instant earworm album; it’s a grower, one that rewards repeat listens.

It’s got the playfulness of The Fame, the retro flair of Born This Way, the edge of ARTPOP, the lyrical depth of Joanne, and the polish of Chromatica. Standout tracks? Vanish Into You, Garden of Eden, Perfect Celebrity, Zombieboy, and Shadow of a Man shine the brightest, with Lovedrug and Killah being very close.

If there’s one misstep, it’s How Bad Do You Want Me?—not bad by any means, quite beautiful actually. It leans a little too Taylor Swift for my taste, but still enjoyable.

Overall, Mayhem is Gaga at her most fearless and eclectic. It’s an album that refuses to be boxed in, and once it clicks, it really clicks.

Avoided all links and snippets for the first time in a Gaga album, now listening to the album in order FINALLY:traumatica:

Avoiding snippets and reviews these last days while wanting to keep it in touch with every Gaga story and interview was truly an achievement. Had to scroll FAST to not hear Garden of Eden:ladyhaha:

Abra is coming to its end.. here we go!

I really wanted to see how GGD really feels about this album, mainly to inject a little positivity in the last few pages of this thread, so I went all the way back to the pages where the album released in NZ and categorized your reviews into numbers.

I read 50 reviews / comments in total, only taking into account users who actually gave a review of the entire body of work (I excluded replies where they only praised/complained about one or two songs in particular).

About 14 users praised the record, using words like "magnum opus", "loved the record" & "No skips"

About 22 users left a positive review, saying they liked the record, except for maybe one or two songs

About 5 users had a more lukewarm review, mainly saying they liked a couple of songs, but will need more time to digest the album and let it grow.

About 7 users had negative feelings towards the album, saying they were disappointed and could not get on board.

Only 1 user panned the album, calling it her worst work.

OVERALL, with this little cute, obviously not air-tight sample, GGD seems to positively/critically praise Mayhem. Average users score is about 8.8

I suspect critic scores will land around low 80's, high 70's. If we are lucky, this could be Gaga's highest rated album in her career.

I did use ChatGPT to organise my thoughts at first, but every sentence is from me. I'm autistic and i've been in a joyous haze all day because of the album, I needed the help to form cohesive toughts :huntyga::derpga:

As a hardcore swiftie, I am so glad that all of you (try to) keep insulting "HBDYWM" because it sounds like Taylor

Looking forward to that one a lot :ladyhaha:

It does not sound like her. It sounds the same 80s garage pop TayTay took inspiration from. :poot:

Judas is coming. Let the cultural baptism begin.
