I think our first impressions are very heavily reliant on our expectations for the album. Honestly I was so underwhelmed by Chromatica in 2020 but ended up loving a lot of it later. I think a lot of LMs were expecting everything to be The Fame, Bad Romance, and Paparazzi; completing disregarding Teeth, Speechless, and Eh Eh.  And I think this album doesn't lean too heavily into being completely "hard and heavy". Unfortunately for some as well, Gaga chose to highlight the heavy hitters, leaving mostly the lighter, less angry/aggressive songs to be discovered by us tonight.

I still think Abracadabra and Disease are the best songs on the album and I was hoping for an album full of songs like this.

Did it take anyone multiple listens to get into the album? I just finished my first listen and idk I wasn’t blown away by any of the songs, though I did enjoy Perfect Celebriry the most. I feel like such a hater because I usually love everything she releases.

Same. Actually at the moment I like Chromatica better than Mayhem.
