I’m in USA and 19 minutes left until album release. I’ve heard bits of the songs on TikTok. I’ve seen many negative comments on TikTok about the album and how people were expecting darker a la TFM and BTW. Many comments from people let down with the album. Is the album really not that good??

It's definately a grower. But it's also definately not the dark pop album we were advertised. It leans more into the funk/disco territory.

Do not let anybody influence your opinion. Art is entirely subjective. 
My favorite Gaga album is ARTPOP, i don’t give a f what anybody says.

I think Mayhem stands proudly among BTW and AP as her bests albums.

Guys give up with this Dark Ga narrative. It is not that but what it is really really works and the album has enough teeth (Disease, Perfect Stranger, Garden, Killa, Beast).. There are parts that don’t resonate with me at all but it is ok there is always subjectivity element in music.

A. Abracadabra, Shadow of A Man, DWAS.

B. Disease, Vanish Into You, Garden Of Eden.

C. How Bad Do U Want Me, Killah, The Beast.

D. LoveDrug, Blade Of Grass, Don't Call Tonight.

A solid album that falls a little flat at the end, Zombieboy and Perfect Celebrity are her best songs in like 15 years, Abracadabra is very close, well done Gaga ❤️.

The album is def a grower but I could instantly recognize the quality and hard work put into it. Overall I think it sums up gaga's discography perfectly as we find the darker more "gaga" part of her, also her the fame disco pop roots, her more joanne pop rock side, her ballad "lady" style. We can even find the influence of pre-fame demos funky pop style. Its everything at once. This album is actually not made to be an easy catchy pop songs compliation but rather a true listenning experience for people that love music, and it has it all for basically every taste. Its a very mature album, the vocals are pushed in a very clever way along with those immaculate melodies. Will need to listen to it more to appreciate more still tho

Stand outs for me are Shadow of a man, Garden of eden, LovedrugThe beast is so unexpected but love it, its so unique and it will probably be craazy live.And I think that Garden of Eden or Perfect celebrity would be good choice of single 

What also impresses me a lot is the fact that both disease/Abracadabra and Die with a smile fit on the album while still feeling cohesive. Not everyone could do that.

How Bad Do You Want Me is amazing and definitely not the weakest song on Mayhem. I would love an album full of similar songs!

 

I absolutely love Perfect Celebrity, Zombieboy, Shadow of a man. Ahhh

By the way, I can confidently say that this is her best album to date. BTW/TF moved.  

 

Glad she finished Mayhem with Blade of Grass, what a beautiful ballad, wraps album well. 
 

Agree with me or not, Mayhem is her best album. If GP picks it up, it’ll snatch major award categories, bookmark me
