@27monster27 shared a poll with me that shows about 5 million people that voted for Biden in 2020 prioritized Gaza when voting and either voted for Trump or didn't vote at all.

I can't wrap my head around that severe lapse in judgement.

It's not a severe lapse in judgement. It's actually very simple to understand, more so if you take into account a vast majority of people in the US can't wrap their minds around the idea of having more than two options to choose from. When you can't think of an alternative and you are dissapointed with how Biden handled Gaza, then you vote for the opposition. Simple as. As soon as you recognize this, it's easier to start working to fix it. But it won't happen.

"Before Hamas attacked"? Oh no is it the Palestinians' fault they keep murdering their children? For decades Israel kept on attacking and the one time the Palestinians defended themselves, they apparently ruined everything and every chance for peace evaporated.

Sis :laughga:

I don't equate Hamas to the Palestinian people. They don't fight for Gazans' safety or freedom. They're dumb terrorists just like a hundred other dumb terrorist groups (and governments).

But the fact is things were on a positive trend, thanks in large part to the Biden administration, until Hamas attacked and Israel retaliated with overwhelmingly disproportionate force.

Palestinians deserve freedom from Israel and they were on a path to get it until Hamas gave Netanyahu a reason to tear it all up.

And the fact Biden "had things on the right track" whilst giving billions upon billions to Israel but nothing to the Palestinians...

What are you talking about? Millions of US tax dollars were pouring into Gaza under Biden. Building their infrastructure, modernizing their region, bringing high speed internet to the area, and maintaining a relationship with Israel where Gazans could freely travel between Gaza and Israel for work.

It was a long term goal, but still a goal, that all this would lead to Palestine finally being freed from Israel's continued occupation.

Every bit of that ended the day Hamas attacked.

That's not the reality we live in :laughga:

You can't just start a third party at the presidential level. In the US, the president is a binary choice. You pick the better option of the two.

If people want that to change then third parties need to be started from the ground up.

The green party has held, what? 11 minor offices? And yet Stein continues to run in the hopes of peeling off support from Democratic candidates which does nothing but aide the conservative/Nazi party :rip:

Anyone who said Gaza was a main concern of theirs and then didn't vote for Kamala Harris wasn't thinking straight. Or at all tbh.

If we could just go back to the Biden days when it was just genocide happening on a daily basis

Not gonna debate this anymore I think. It's the same crap we've all been arguing about through the election only now there's nothing we can actually do to fix it.

Guys. What is the point of being able to elect a particular president if that president isn't going to enact any meaningful change? What is the point of that? Yes, right now only Ds and Rs can get to the presidency, but what's the point of defending one or the other that much if nothing really changes? Even if the "realistic choice" is to choose one of the two, then what will change with that "realistic" perspective? Apparently nothing, yet you keep on insisting someday, if maybe this and that happens, and maybe if those and these coexist, and maybe if we win this or that, maybe if the stars align we can have universal healthcare or stop funding a genocide on the other side of the world. Lol.

"Democracy is not a decorative ornament, but an instrument for addressing the issues that concern the people. Democracy is the right of the people in every country, rather than the prerogative of a few nations." -Xi Jinping

Democracy isn't only the possibility of choosing between two corrupt old people every four years. It's much more than that. The fact that the Dems lost and your reaction is to say "there's nothing we can do" should really make you think. There's much more to democracy than inserting a piece of paper into a ballot.

Since Trump won in 2016 I've been less worried about "meaningful change" and more worried about stopping the freak(s), Nazis, white supremacists, and fascists from getting power.

Imo, wanting the kind of change you're speaking about while a Trump presidency was being threatened is like getting into a severe car accident, being left bleeding profusely, but saying you wanna stop to get a haircut before you go to the hospital :rip:

It doesn't make sense to me. It seems idealistic and not really grounded in reality. At least, reality as I perceive it.

I would much rather see incremental change while staving off dictators than lose to said dictators while preaching about the changes we need. But here we are :rip:

And this is the other disconnect :laughga:

I don't view Biden or Harris as corrupt people. Very few Dems meet my definition of corrupt, especially within the context of American politics as a whole.

And yes, there is nothing as powerful in a Democracy than inserting a vote into a ballot box. Once the time for that has passed, the people's power is severely limited.

Love ya and all but out of respect for you I don't wanna continue this argument, we won't change each other's minds and, to paraphrase Kamala, we have a lot more in common than what separates us :vegas:

That's precisely what they want you to do. Meanwhile, under that pretense, the Dems had the perfect excuse for being more and more like the Republicans each day. There's no possible alternative nor can there ever be one, they say.

Everything but that then! Lol

We can break this country if we work at it and organize. Direct all our energy towards the class war just like his friends are doing. We can piss him off more than the BLM protests and he'll probably overstep to quell it. Even a lot of the hicks and hillbillies will turn against the government if they see enough white men getting brutalized by the cops over some rich person sh*t.

It's a lot of work but we had a lot of work to do before this anyway
