Togekiss 2,397
It’s difficult to answer because we will never know what she might have done with her career without being abused by her family/the industry. But she had remarkable talent (singing, dancing, genuinely good comedic timing and acting ability) at a really young age. building a daydream

Shakmasda 258
Not really. She was never the Whitney/Mariah/Celine type of singer, more like the Madonna/Janet type, with whom other aspects made up for the no big belting characteristics (of which I was never a fan of anyway, especially when they abuse their vocal cords as if trying to prove somethang) To me is all about the music in the end, and Brit had several great tunes, a lot of which she had a big involvement with their creation. Her dancing skills were awesome and it showed how much dedication she had for her craft, so it is appreciated. Too bad she lost control of her career and then all just went bonkers for her. timdrake 643
It depends what you’re looking for. As a recording artist, I’ve always thought she was great. As an entertainer and dancer, she’s remarkable. As a pure vocalist, she’s never been super strong in that area- and she’s acknowledged such. However, I don’t feel it’s right to label her overrated and try to diminish her appeal because she may not check everyone’s boxes.
Celloo Deng 53,939
She’s the ultimate pop girly, the blueprint i try to live in black & white but i'm so blue
Nycboy 988
In the 90s/00s, she was not overrated and she deserved her success, because she was the pop girlie blueprint and she was massive. But looking back at it now, I can see how she is overrated. I grew up with Britney as a huge fan but today I much prefer Gaga, Ariana, Beyoncé, Charli, Miley, Lana’s (and the list goes on) discography, visuals, tours, and overall presence and artistry. She walked so they could run. It’s kind of a “you had to be there” thing… especially since unfortunately her career is basically over now and she isn’t the same person she used to be. If she kept recording music over the years and stayed more relevant I think I’d fan over her way more. I’m honestly starting to feel the same way about Rihanna these days. Since she hasn’t released new music in almost a decade, I feel like way less of a fan and more like she was an icon of the past.
GagaGame 3,359
She deserves her success but her music isn't the best, but still, it eats mayhem? CANCELLED
crackhead 1,114
No, she’s a living legend. She’s literally like the SSS Tier pop girl, in the same grouping as Michael, Madonna, Prince, Cher, Whitney, Mariah, Beyoncé… some people may not know her work very well these days and she may not be everyone’s taste but she’s undeniably iconic and did what she did perfectly. Anyone who downplays her success or talent is honestly just ignorant tbh
