But the thing is, we're beyond that now. It's banned until godking Trump does something about it or the company reaches an agreement. Are we finding alternative apps/websites to bypass the ban? Are we posting contact information of officials who have a say in reversing the ban? Are we gonna do anything about this administration besides sitting online and complaining? I'm asking here at this point because it isn't just words anymore. The bad is here, the local work I do doesn't feel like enough, and there doesn't seem to be anything remotely useful happening in this community yet. I'd love to see that changed.

No we are not beyond it because most Americans haven’t even realized this happened yet. Give it a day or two - it’s literally been an hour.

We do have to move forward — but not without knowing how we got here before something similar happens again.

There is no other outcome other than “Trump is cool he gave us checks and saved TikTok”, and idk how to damage control that going forward.

I disagree. People have been counting down the days hoping for something to happen and prevent it from getting banned. People mass migrated to RedNote. We knew the date and the date is here now. Sure,the news will take a minute to get to everyone but the bad thing happened. 

I'm not worried about the blame. Repubs suck, dems suck, Trump sucks, Biden sucks. People are gonna be stupid about it and blame the side they don't like until being smart about it is personally advantageous to them. 

Damage control now means pointing at the next bad thing about to happen and fighting against that. And that next bad thing seemingly is mass deportations.

We can't afford to accept that as a reality if we want to remain the USA. There has to be a line and preventing more concentration camps on US soil needs to be that line or else there's no use in even complaining about tiktok or p*rn or reproductive rights.

Got a link to this poll? Genuinely curious about it 'cause I checked out of politics when we did the stupidest thing ever by reelecting that greasy turd.

Polls leading up to election day consistently put Israel/Gaza far, far, far on the back burner for American voters so I'm curious how wrong either they were or the poll you're referring to is.
