On Reddit, someone wrote that the map looks similar to the New York metropolitan area and I totally agree. The tip of the Danube Delta is Manhattan, and then upstate New York is to the north.

Some people say that Ukraine inflates the number of Ukrainians and reduces the number of other ethnic groups in order to make itself as Ukrainian as possible. The numbers from Ukraine's gov always differ from other scientific surveys. One might think that the number of Ukrainians, Bulgarians and Russians is very similar, followed by Romanians. Bessarabia is a highly diverse area in Europe, probably one of the most diverse alongside the Caucasus and N. Macedonia. With the declining demographics in Rumania, Bulgaria, Moldova, Ukraine, Bessarabia, I think the local people there likely care more about sustaining their infrastructure and decaying villages than changing borders that are so complicated to be changed.

I think they mostly care about the war and its destructive effects on their region tbh. Southern Bessarabia is far from the frontlines, but it was pretty regularily hit by Russian strikes.

I'm going to youtube to search for a QHD/4K video of Valcov. You know I love Venice, including the hundreds of variations of it in the north, east, west of the world I bought my QHD monitor exactly for situations like these.
