Ariana dominated during Thank U, Next but I don’t remember her having much impact outside of that era.  I hope there’s an Ariana Stan here to correct me.

They can try but Gaga still outsold Katy worldwide. Both of their Global sales/units are on their Spotify bio that was just updated last year.

Gaga still outsold Katy worldwide. Chartmasters.org agrees, and most importantly, their Spotify bio was just updated with their career sales/units last year.

I think the way Gaga's debut was so collosol has skewed our perception a little bit. Katy's 3 first albums and era were relatively big so her "peak" especially singles wise lasted longer tbh whereas Gaga's took deep dives with each new era until A Star Is Born soundtrack came and changed that for a while. But from here on out Gaga will; have a brighter commercial future compared ot Katy and she will probably overlap her by the end of next year
