The one that started last night in Hollywood I believe they contained since they are now able to bring in helicopters and airplanes for support. So I saw on the news this morning that the "Hurst" fire is pretty much contained, as well as the "Sunset" fire that popped up in Hollywood last night -- that was taken care of so quickly, truly impressive! The "Palisades" fire and "Eaton" fires are still uncontained, but for the Eaton at least I think it's mostly spreading up into the mountainous areas to the north where there are no houses or anything. If you look at the pictures taken after the fire, the houses are literally burned to the ground, only the fence remains, cos it is made from stone/concrete/brick. I find it absolutely fascinating how experts are so easily able to decipher exactly where and how a fire starts, even down to catching the perpetrator. The most basic explanation is that things don't just disappear after they burn, the charred debris and ash tell a story about where the fire started from and the path it took to get there. If something was used to start the fire (like an accelerant) we have the ability to detect the exact substances used. If they pinpoint where it started, and they detect a lot of gasoline was burned where it shouldn't be, its likely someone put it there.
