I dont know much about his character or history but 100 is a rare feat and will continue to be so for decades to come.

Rest in peace!

Yeah basically. Carter was a 1 term president and everyone at the time thought he got most things wrong but wasn't a bad guy.

He got very unlucky with the hand dealt to him on the economy & foreign policy. The US had high unemployment & double digit inflation which he didn't really get to grips with and then there was the soviet invasion of Afghanistan and the Iran hostage crisis.

But on the same hand he achieved the Panama Canal deal and a peace deal between Israel & Egypt. And his presidential charity has been waaaaay more successful than he was in office.

The gays know how to party

He was fundamentally too nice to be President. He was unwilling to play dirty, cheat, or do anything that wasn’t totally above board, and as such, the Republicans were able to dog walk him his whole four years.

But he dedicated his post-presidency to public service and was still building homes for Habitat for Humanity well into his 90s.

This was probably his most famous speech I think.  right in the middle of in his era inflation and long lines at the gas pump

Jimmy was a very introspective guy.....  so yeah his message didn't really go over well when people were struggling financially.  Not too unlike today.

I would add as well Jimmy was ahead of his time in regards too solar energy.

H had it installed in the White House when he was president.  Reagan's 1st thing he did was rip it down

Friendly reminder that Reagans grave is a gender neutral bathroom.
