There are legitimate complaints about him and the current government (housing and immigration are big ones) but covid measures (vaccine mandates, lockdowns etc) reeeeaalllly made a certain segment of the population turn against him in a deep way he's never recovered from.

Count me in that camp. I definitely had no quarrel with the covid measures

 

But my god, he let housing get so out of control and then still let in 1.3M ppl a year, a number nearly as high as the US with 9X the population

 

Hes also done almost nothing to takle the serious lack of business investment in Canada and our competitiveness. We keep dropping in GDP Per Capita and in rankings at an alarming rate. Its not just income inequality, the economic pie per citizen is literally shrinking so the country is literally getting poorer!

 

I also find it disturbing that last year life expectancy in Canada fell a 3rd year in a row which hadnt occured in nearly a century. Canada used to be in the top 5 by life expectancy, now my other Nationality Portugal is about to surpass it

 

Yeah sorry hes a nice guy in some ways and did a few good things but he needs to go. Theres way more screwups and incompetences on his part than positives in my opinion. Hes like this well intentioned amateur employee at work that wants to help but just keeps breaking things .

 

PS: I dont like Jagmeet Singh from NDP and definitelt not Poilievre of Conservatives anymore than Trudeau for different reasons. Id be pro the Liberals just trying a different leader tbh but for that to happens he needs to drop his ego and LET GO already, even his own party keeps pressuring him to resign

Yeah I agree with pretty much your whole comment but especially this. The Liberals had SO MANY dumb little controversies and screwups over the years, like so many mistakes that were easily avoidable and every one just gave the Cons something to poke at. It was so annoying, like why are you giving them these easy dunks?!
