I mean its 1 edition available in 1 country only (and doesn't affect streaming). 

It'd be different if Hold My Hand smashed and then got put onto Chromatica before it came out - which it didn't.

SO many fans insisted this wouldn’t happen. Mostly because the sounds of the singles sound drastically different but also because it would be a clear sign of sales strategy and a lot of us didn’t think she’d care that much. All the quotes from her team months ago said this would be a one off single.
 

I can’t believe they are just stating this like it was always the plan (it clearly wasn’t) and now we are celebrating a top 10 lead?! Thats just delusional. It wasn’t the lead and we will look stupid to try and spin it as one. 

I don't know how you got that they are celebrating it as a lead? Gaga doesn't call it the lead in the interview. And I don't think anyone on here is celebrating it as the lead, just people pointing out it will boost album numbers. 

Also I don't see how you think they're saying it was "always the plan". When DWAS came out we didn't even have a confirmed release window for the first LG7 single. We know Gaga was recording at the start of the year. 
All that Gaga said in this interview is that the song is "the missing piece" for her that tied the album together. We don't know what LG7 looks like yet, so we don't know if it fits cohesively or not. All we have are teases. And lets not forget that I Wanna Be With You/Dope & Princess Die were both made for ARTPOP which also includes Donatella & Swine. We should be used to varied sounds on Gaga releases lol 
 
For all we know, Gaga may have well decided as she finalized LG7 plans this summer, maybe even as late as August/September when she first teased Disease was coming that Die With a Smile fit LG7's concept and tied it off neatly.

It just makes more sense, they wouldn't let 1 billion of streams to slip away but DWAS was really intended to be a standalone single, Bruno's single, and it's really not matching the whole album, so an "encore" bonus track at the end it's the most logical thing to do without killing the vibe of the album.

she's a POP star managed by a label, it's how this business works

it has happened many times before in her career, it will happen many many times more in the future until she parts ways with a major label

and this will not make LG7 any lesser, if anything it takes the pressure off the rest of the album and she can gift us more tracks like disease 

 thank u for remembering me with this topic. I really dedicated time into posting #DWAS for LG7 "multiple times" on this site because the song was such a important legacy to Gaga and I only want the best for her, I also wanted to open up this idea so others would be ready.
