Thanks to the OP for pulling out the excerpts from the interview, but I just clicked on the link to the full interview and I would recommend to everyone to do the same. There's a lot of detail in there about the creation of DWAS, and that's something I think we were all curious about.

I don't mind it being on the album at all, I always love a ballad moment on any album cause otherwise it's kind of exausting to have 10-15 pure dance tracks and DWAS is gorgeous and fantastic and I love to listen to it.
I do however mind the bollocks storyline :P She HERSELF said it was a standalone single, not connected to anything, just to keep fans at bay till LG7 and now randomly it's on the album, and an integral part at that?  I just dislike how there's always someone who needs to push her to create, a constant narrative since 2019 from the 100 people speach on. It was Bradley, it was Bloodpop, Tony and now Michael who had to nudge her to make music; which to an extent it shows with how sparse she's been with preforming pop.

Does Gaga need the permission of little monsters to change her plans in her career 

Have you never changed your decision regarding anything in your life 

Disease didn't perform as per her label's expectations, her core fan base is limited to queer community + some girls. If she needs to be as successful as before she has to somehow resonate with the straight population too  which she did with DWAS.

She's definitely not going to waste that 1 billion streams of DWAS by not including in LG7, just because some of her fans are unhappy 

She can't control her circumstances, but she can decide how she chooses to navigate them.

That's disappointing. I don't expect that kind of move from her. It's very charts not the arts. She initially said it was a standalone.

I'm sure you will have to delete more on the album than DWAS then 

Gaga teased that she starting the album with dark vibes navigating though the chaos and bad decisions in her life and achieving getting love and peace at the end

let the Lady speak her truth. DWAS is a hit and a beautiful song. it’s about to boost the album and give 10x more streams to each track. the fact that not everybody could sing and perform that song and video gives her freedom to put that one even on a christmas EP if she felt like it.

so well put. if Gaga was relying solely on her initial fanbase, she would be scrapping the bottom of the pan right now, trying to make club songs for people who listen to her for free on spotify/youtube while complaining she’s not charting or being overperformed by younger artists and being messy on social media and giving her a bad name. Gaga doesn’t owe anybody a penny ESPECIALLY her fanbase.I said what I said

As I was saying in another thread - Even if its - "bling not the music" let her have it. It's probably the last album we gonna get for years, cuz she's gonna make babies (I wish someone would make babies with me too 😪) and enjoy her family life 👏. Enjoy her while you can instead of complaining ♥️

Well then you’re gonna have to delete more than DWAS because she’s already said that the album is full of many different genres and styles. If you’re expecting a full dark pop fantasy, you’re mistaken
