Labels, (and artists), may promote, but one line she said really sticks, "I am not gonna vote any different(ly)" 

And that's why Beyoncé, Adele, Taylor Swift, and other Grammys darlings will keep winning the big awards. These majority of voters have their mind set in stone, even if you trying to educate them on names that is new and foreign to them, it just not gonna work. Unless you lobbied them enough. By that I am saying taking them to the parties, expensive lunch/dinner, lavish care packages etc. 

Indie artists can never have that kind of money to do that. Which is another thing this lady trying to point across here

Seriously, she said almost nothing and needed 30 minutes to do so. 

And the way she's constantly punching that piece of paper is making me so uncomfortable. It's comical almost how nice it looks in the beginning and the condition it's in by the time she finishes her TED Talk. What's with all that built up anger about a label promoting their artist??

i vote for either brat or trafoamwp (or whatever chappell's acronym is). it's going to be awkward to see beyoncé lose out to another white artist (again) but unfortunately cowboy carter wasn't the album that deserved a win (that was beyoncé, lemonade, and renaissance). the academy might still make her win to avoid the awkwardness though since it's literally going to be her fifth loss with 0 wins (each time to a white artist) so i can already see all the discourse being generated around that.

Beyonce never wins AOTY because of writing camps. It’s the common thread that I’ll always stand by. She’s the most awarded Grammy winner in history so honestly I really don’t think it has anything to do with race. Lemonade imo is the only time she could have won but 25 really was an absolute juggernaut in every single metric
