This happens when you have world leaders thinking they can go back to the "old good times" and pretending that today more than ever in human history, you need to collaborate with other countries.

english isn't my language haha... let me fix that a little
They try to convince people that in the "good old days," a country could sustain itself without needing anyone else. With that, they instill extreme nationalist sentiments. Then, they make extreme decisions based on that nationalism to "fulfill their voters' expectations," and things like this happen.

I feel like I'm not being very clear, sorry about that...

I think Canada needs to show we aren’t going to be bullied by the US.

Unfortunately we have really lost a lot of recognition in the world stage with Trudeau and aren’t taken as seriously as we should. We have some of the most oil reserves and overall resources in the world. We are the second biggest country with the most educated population.

Trumps tariff threat is completely unreasonable. He cites our border as being one of the reasons he wants to punish us but the amount of drugs and illegals going into the US from Mexico is much much muchhhhh more than from Canada to US.

I’m all for governments working together to resolve issues but if the US is going to play dirty with one of its strongest allies then Canada is prepared to fight back.

Also F Doug Ford. :ohwell:

I just have to believe this is all a bunch of blowhard BS on both sides. The economy and energy are too important to **** up. If they do, it would be an emergency that would be resolved very quickly. Just don't see any other way.

Call your therapist...it's Petie Estie

I sold off a lot of my investments today cuz i literally worry its all about to turn to sh*t

I REALLY hope the worst case scenario doesnt play out. Trump has so much ego he thinks he can take on the entire world at once... Canada, Mexico, China and Brics and he is gonna burn America hard and unfortunately those same Nations down with him

Trade isnt a black and white 0 sum game with 1 winner and 1 looser. Its a lot more nuanced than that. But he doesnt get it.

It will so you’re smart to lock in profits, as soon as the markets recognize Trumps serious about these tariffs there will be a sizable crash. Elon even admitted the markets would get wiped out “temporarily”. But if he feels compelled to admit that markets will crash, it will end up being much worse than he’s saying.

This kitten over here (meow)
