Plus that whole farce situation, taking AGES and pushing 30 to finally come out of the woods about his sexuality in the year 2024… Come on, give us a break.

I think the album is pretty enjoyable listening experience. Though I'm not surprised that the reception it has.

The warning signs were evident when his last album massively underperformed, stopped promo after just 2 singles, couldn't be toured immediately because it was released in 2020 and when he started the tour 2 years later, was only 7 dates in before he cancelled the entire thing due to mental health issues and didn't reschedule. This was bad enough but then he went completely silent ever since and his new album in 4 years has had no major promo and is apparently more acoustic so not the chart friendly pop he was making until recently. Flopping is a given at this point. Mismanagement and lack of drive to get back on the wagon will cause this.

But this is all compounded by his speech at a show that he's "still working out" his sexual orientation at the age of 26. These kind of statements give people the ick. It's 2024, you know there's more choices than just gay or straight, say you're bisexual and own it. Clearly, he's saying he's into both so what is there to still figure out? I found out he was raised in a religious family and maybe that's why he thinks there's something to hide or that he should talk himself into being straight but he's in the entertainment industry, he should know how this stuff works outside the religious bubble. If you truly know who you are, you won't even need to physically experiment to find out what you're into. If you haven't worked it out by your mid-20's, when your brain has fully developed, I really don't know what to say to you. And that lack of confidence in who he is doesn't help win him fans or support.

the album is bad, it's short and uninspired. Sounds like demos most of the time.
