‘Wicked’ becomes the first musical film adaptation to cross $200M at the domestic box

I really thought this would flop based on how Oz did back in the day as well as musicals overall lately combined with box office trends. But I'm happy for Ariana, and I'm glad to see her negative press earlier this year didn't affect the film.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for Wicked success, very deserving and a good omen for future musicals, but i had to get this out of my chest

Meh, you win some you lose some. Gaga has all the talent in the world but if she and her team can't get better at identifying roles worth pursuing then that's on them.

The SECOND Joker 2 was announced my immediate reaction was: 

A sequel to a DC spinoff that got mixed reviews? Not exactly a slam dunk choice. But then I bought into the hype and got excited... only for the movie to suck outside of Gaga's minimal screentime and end up exactly as I had suspected.

in retrospect it was a big gamble, if it worked, she would win over DC fans and cement herself as a household name. And on paper it looked good, joker 1 was acclaimed and did well on the box office, the sequel still had Joaquin and has the same director, I can understand why she accepted it, if only Todd didn't screw it up.

i want to see it but every time i see any clip of it the coloring makes me so uncomfortable. like how could they get away with it. the 30s film has a lot more life than this

Just a bump in the road, I am sure Gaga learned from this experience. She will be more selective moving forward.

Tbf the color grading looks significantly better on screen in the theatre than it does in the trailer
