The US genesis is the biggest example of colonisation, it's just a fact.

Is this really true? Britain, France, Spain, and Portugal basically carved up nearly the entire globe at some point. The Americas, collectively, would be the biggest example I think.

skipping Texas for future vacation spots

But I'm sure AZ isn't too far behind with these immigration camps ideas :interestinga:

Doesn't Arizona have much more sensible leadership? And a more sensible electorate?

I remember Kamala citing a few Arizona mayors running border cities who've done a lot to say "yo, this isn't as big of a problem as Trump/the GOP is making it out to be."

honestly our leadership is so random, the entire AZ voted for a lot of progressive rights this past election and voted Ruben for senate over Kari Lake :icant:, but trump won AZ, which doesn't make sense :oprah:

a scam honestly :interestinga:

Hasn’t AZ been conservative most of the  time? I don’t know much politics but I do live and was raised here. Also, nice to know a GGD member lives here in AZ!

This response is so problematic lmao.
You can't compare fights between native tribes with the colonisation of a whole land and civilisation by white people from Europe. The US genesis is the biggest example of colonisation, it's just a fact.

I’m not comparing anything. I’m talking about the behaviors of human nature, the formation of tribes, the way countries form, etc.  The Is is not thr biggest example of colonization. Countries of Europe like the UK, the Dutch, the Portuguese, all had a broader stretch than the US. What you say is indeed, not fact.

I think it's 'cause our country is literally called a "melting pot". Out of every nation in the world that was born from colonizers and conquests (literally all of them :rip:) ours is uniquely an immigrant nation.

So the wild uptick in xenophobia and racism "makes sense" (it doesn't) in, say, Europe but in America? A nation built by immigrants for immigrants? It goes against everything we were told we stand for.

At least, that's how I see it.

Our best scientists, our best doctors, our best engineers, our best leaders, etc they're all either immigrants or first generation Americans from immigrant families. It's so deeply woven into our identity as a nation.

Antimigration rehtoric in Nations like that is definitely puzzling

Im gonna add Canada, Australia and New Zealand there as well, definitely not exclusively the US. They have no one living here other than a few first Nations and grew exclusively from immigration
