That glorious day Madonna made a video that was banned from all tv (Justify My Love) and the way she made millions selling the VHS of it.

What I don’t understand is why the MVs don’t get officially released on Spotify or even on TikTok, if the YouTube is the problem, then it’s the platform, not the art form itself. Billboard have changed its rules so many times, I’m sure it can count the MV streams from different platforms as well. I can’t fathom how people are so obsessed with a VIDEO platform right now but music VIDEOS are not the thing?? It makes no sense to me

Did she actually say it didn't make money? All she said in the quote is that no one watches them. As an ARTIST, you create art for an AUDIENCE... It's PopCrave that mentions returns, not Anitta.

From a purely business standpoint, she’s right.

I mean, there‘s no better release to look at. The live performance of DWAS is 2mio views ahead of Disease, and those 2mio are 20% of Disease‘s views. And they were literally released simultaneously. Yes, DWAS is a hit. But those numbers are insane. 
 

Also this: Look at Gaga’s most viewed videos. ARUTW, Shallow, INLA are all made from scenes in the movie. DWAS & Million Reasons are pretty simplistic. Then there’s Rain On Me. And Shallow from the Oscars is a live performance. The rest is at least 11 (Applause) years old.
