Gen Z is no Longer (at least for now) a Reliable Group for Democrats

Nothing entices potential voters like telling them you hope they get hurt by their decisions

If Democrats want to succeed in the midterms and in 2028 consider not berating more than half the country. I’ve seen more liberals saying they hope latino men and Arab men are deported. I’ve seen liberals telling Arabs who leaned for Trump that they hope Gaza is destroyed. Black men are being haggled. And of course there’s the onslaught of liberals telling people how dare they have thought about their waning wallets. Try not to do that so Democrats can amass a ground coalition because people will see these reactions and not want to cozy up to such people for the next election ESPECIALLY if things go well …

I do agree some comments went too far, but they were also an emotional in the moment reaction. Should these things actually happen, the same people are gonna be out there protesting.

however in some cases, i dont feel bad about guilting and shaming a greedy rich guy or in general hoping someone voting will be personnaly affected by their votes. Especially because the dangers that trump pose are not targeted at whole groups of population, but individuals in those population. ie the consequences are remote enough that people can ignore it.

Don’t we think it’s time to abandon Twitter now? Its not Twitter anymore, it’s Elon’s brainwashing machine.. I saw Elon posted “more men voting than ever before” blah blah and the TOP comment was Andrew Tate which said something like “Too bad girls, gays and ***s” I MEAN??!

i blame the internet and elon musk for sure, for allowed figures like andrew tate to go unpunished and have a dangerous voice on his platform

i've reported so many of his tweets that downright contain violent slurs and the report will tell me they find nothing wrong with his tweets...

andrew tate is involved in human traficking, r*pe and abuse. And we all know the disgusting things trump has said, done and been exposed for. I guess these are the kinds of people that US citizens deem as the 'model citizen'. Ra*pists, abusers, criminals

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

So much this. But we know who controls social media and advertisement agencies, and all those people want a governement that will allow the rich to become richer, so they use their influence to indocrinate these new generations. I see it here in Germany where older people who actually remember the past (and know what will happen if an extremist government gets elected) voted left, and the newer generations are voting the far-right into power.

Unfortunately, schools and universities don't seem to be the main source of information anymore for young people, TikTok, Facebook and Twitter are.

I would suggest deleting every social media app except Instagram which isn't about politics & opinions. Twitter and Tiktok are full of extreme right propaganda. I erased the algorythm of my Tiktok 2 days ago to reset the recommended videos and EVERYTHING being recommended to new users is extreme right propaganda.

The way the internet has developed over the last decade definitely did its part to why most of people lean more towards conservative than liberal politics right now.

I’ve seen people literally and openly threatening people to kill them and asking people do do it, and when I reported the comment (twice!) they said there wasn’t anything violent that broke the rules

A data leak of Twitter also revealed that he had several accounts and words protected from the report system. It includes terrorists like Chaya Raichik and slurs like the n-word.
