Trumps Gen Z support grew compared to 2020, and Kamalas has decreased, by half, compared to Bidens in 2020. Most people point to the economy and housing as a reason for this. Several political pundits have stated that the right has made massive grounds in (if not outright winning) the culture war, and have placed blame on the rise of those like Andrew Tate. The trend of the gender gap increasing exponentially is still holding true as well. ---- People not knowing how the economy works (among other things) botched the election. nATAH 56,894
i blame the internet and elon musk for sure, for allowed figures like andrew tate to go unpunished and have a dangerous voice on his platform i've reported so many of his tweets that downright contain violent slurs and the report will tell me they find nothing wrong with his tweets... mother, what must i do? Chlorine 47,976
Ultimately it always comes down to the economy. It's not really about ideals or the culture wars. Those are the extremes on both sides. I don't think people who voted for Trump grasped what they were really doing. But... they're going to find out.
Guest
The average voter doesn't care about the world issues or the social issues. During election, they ask themselves "Is things better now than they were with the last president in my life?" If the answer is yes, they vote in favor of the current party in power. If they answer no, they vote in favor of the other. Gen Z does seem to be very fixated on online interaction and podcasts. Last night there were exit polls where people stated that the deciding factor for some voters was Kamala not going on Joe Rogan podcast so "she wasn't a real person" to them. Which is its own vapid bullshit, but we also live in a world where people were Googling yesterday if Biden dropped out of the election.

faysalaaa 5,336
The system has nothing to offer the American people, and Trump is taking advantage of that. The more they attack Trump without offering anything, the more Trump looks good.
lastpopicon 37,264
i don't want to blame a whole generation because gen z also voted for kamala but the "alpha" type influencers poison the minds of young men with hateful narratives and now Elon Musk made a twitter a safe heaven to spew the hate. Obligatory f`*ck elon musk. The melody that you choose can rescue you
HeavyCapiLover 4,389
Well all you need to know is these two things : inflation hitting hard young people / young men having an existential crisis (and white women being more racist than feminists )

Obligatory f`*ck elon musk. Honestly, I think Western democracies need a Revolutions of 1848/Europe 1910s and 1920s/Arab Spring to happen. A mass revolt against authoritarianism that shocks the world into being more free. he/him/his
Siena 6,412
We can try to make this as deep as we want and label the majority of Americans as â homophobicâ, â racistâ, âdumbâ etc. But at the end of the day the majority of people vote based on their pocketbook, and how they financially feel better today versus during the last presidency. Iâm not saying itâs right, thatâs just the reality. All of these social issues we are writing think pieces about arenât considered by people who are struggling to make ends meet, even if we wish they were considered. Weâll have to see how the next 4 years go, but I have faith we will get through it like we did the first time. Thank god after this he is done and we hopefully donât get to hear from him ever again.

Lucas 31,101
I blame social media tbh. Propaganda was crazy. On TikTok I did this thing that clean the recommendations of your "For you" thing (basically erases the algorythm and puts your recommendations back to 0 like if you never used TikTok). And lemme tell you, EVERYTHING was about - Trump being a good guy and even a tiktok saying Trump should win the nobel prize of peace. - The dangers of wokeness. - Poland is peaceful because there are no immigrants. - Media saying Trump is bad are not fair towards him. Everything was extreme right propaganda.

LaLa 19,898
I dunno man, I feel like the Democratic party itself has to take a lot of blame here as well. You can't just be "the lesser of two evils" anymore, it's not enough. If people want evil they'll vote for full-strength evil, and if they don't, many just won't vote at all -- as we saw last night. Yes - itâs a new day for sure with groups existing in their own bubbles of reality.  Hard to be heard unless youâre spouting off headline-grabbing gibberish.
