I'm sorry but Britney Spears should be number 1. Whether you think she is untalented or not.

Britney is the one who has created the Blueprint / Business Model for how to develop, market and sell a modern female pop star. (Or at least her team did)

She paved the way for so many artists and set a standard of production quality (both music and visual) that all female artists to this very day are trying to live up to. As far as commerce & art goes. Britney was the pinnacle of what it means to be a pop star . Everyone from the Spice Girls to Destiny's Child to the entire K-pop industry is following the britney spears business model. 

 

There was even a PlayStation 2 Britney video game back then, never seen that for any other popstar...

Gaga’s cultural impact alone makes her in the top 3 like come on  like she legit made it cool to make dance music and is the reason all these DJs post 2008 have careers in the charts like…

She used her platform to push LGBTQ rights forward (she could easily be partially responsible for the repealing of DADT and the legalisation of gay marriage). If Taylor Swift is number 1 I’ll scream.

It's 2024 and people still fail to acknowledge Taylor Swift. That's bizarre to me.

You may not like her but you have to admit she's a star. Plus, she writes her own stuff. It's already been 10 years since 1989, it was an iconic album and she's been making hits like crazy since then.
