If neither base can cling to specific policy, it’s becausewe live in a lopsided, entirely fractured media environment with a reactionary electorate that will vote based on slogans. I’ll do something about that” and “orange man bad.” The silver lining in this is that Democratic Party has the opportunity to change its leadership and messaging. The big cats are losing influence fast. Pelosi is on her last term, Chuck is only the minority leader (and getting old himself), Biden is now hated and probably won’t be followed after he leaves office, Obama keeps politics at a distance outside of election season. LateToCult 42,094 Posted November 7, 2024 Share Posted November 7, 2024 Midterms senate map: The bottom line is that we’re gonna have to keep Georgia, which will be a battle but doable. Maine is a possible flip since Susan Collins voted to appoint Brett K because she believed he wouldn’t try to do away with Roe. North Carolina is possible as well. Even though they voted Trump, they voted for Dems on the ballot. That would put us at 49. (Assuming we win AZ and NV, which are still counting). Long shots to win the senate would be two of: Kentucky with someone Beshear-like. Alaska with someone Peltola-like. Ohio, not out as crazy as you’d first think either. Jesus.
