Kamala did not have any ambitious plan for people to have faith in her project. There is a need for massive change felt by the population but the dems and european traditionnal left are unable to shift its discours to get out of its "establishment" image. It's lterally the contrary and while you don't see it you will keep losing Extremes will always go voting cuz they are passionate about, moderates are indifferent cuz they don't feel identified with radicalism Biden won cuz his discourse was moderation and reconciliation, that's something moderates want and would make them vote for In conclusion, Go radical would only make the other side get even more radical too

Also, why literally all the electoral colleges in a state entirely goes to one single party if it wins the majority of it, even the ones won by the opposition? I've seen this in US only Anyway, better luck next time So apart from 2 states, every other state has a winner takes all for the electoral college votes. And yeah a big state like Montana has a smaller population so gets less of the electoral college votes to give out to the winner. LateToCult 41,864
Late night thoughts. 1. Biden loomed large in this election. He was a cancer for the campaign. His abysmal approval rating, his physical and mental decline, and the fact that the economy (as the every day man sees it) is in complete disarray are the main thing that drove us to this result. 2. Kamala ran an impeccable ground game but her loss highlights the importance of charisma. I’ll be fair to her. The extreme circumstances of her campaign left her muzzled. She had to be careful with just about everything she said because it couldn’t veer too far away from Biden. I think she can be charismatic enough to win the office, but she struggled to connect with Americans. 3. The Dem party is at a crossroads. It needs to go back to policy, it needs to strip away platitudes and identity politics and sensationalism and just focus on solid policy making. Can it do that? MOT 3,608
I think she's lost because she's a woman of colour who waa effectively running as the incumbent in an unpopular administration. I suspect also that she was seen as weak v Trump's strong. I had a theory before the election that most people don't pay much attention to politics because they're too busy working and being with their families and just plain living, and I hoped that when they tuned in just before the election they would take one look at Trump and say hell no. Clearly that didn't happen. Maybe the first part was right, but maybe in the second part they just said prices, wars, she's a woman (and non-white would obviously matter to the racists too). The Fame Monster 4,554
It feels like the world’s taken a pretty unsettling turn. With wars ongoing and Trump returning to office, the future seems more uncertain than ever. Instead of coming together, showing kindness, building bridges, and working toward equality, it feels like we're drifting further apart, embracing self-interest, ignorance, and barriers instead of unity and empathy. We should be focused on ending conflicts, tackling the climate crisis, and nurturing life on this planet, but now, we’re slipping backward. It’s like everyone’s just looking out for themselves, "as long as I’m okay, who cares about the neighbor," right? It's honestly pretty worrying that the biggest economy in the world will be led by a narcissistic figure who seems to care only about his own advantage, someone who poses a real threat to democratic values and openly admires dictators. With Trump now back in the spotlight, there’s a real risk his toxic ideals and values could gain popularity in other democratic countries, especially among young people who spend so much time online and might be drawn in by his rhetoric. I can only hope that Trump voters end up disappointed this time. Maybe they’ll see through the lies and nonsense. But, after seeing what happened last time and seeing how he only gained more power, it’s hard to stay optimistic. Still, all I can do is hope for a miracle. I feel for all the Americans here, and honestly, for the world. It’s a tough time, and it's hard not to feel uneasy about where we’re headed. The way it usually works is that the economy under the current president is a result from the previous president’s work. (Ie obama’s work caused a great economy under Trump). People don’t realize that and Trump took full credit. Religion is a product to sell.
