I absolutely hate that we live in a time where space colonisation is a competitive race. Just leave the other ****ing planets alone and focus on this one. Study space but what a GIANT waste of money and resources trying to be the first to colonise another planet. Colonisation is so goddam evil it just pisses me off that this is the focus 

I'm sick of greed, I'm sick of selfishness, I'm sick of wealth hoarding, I'm sick of all the separation in the world, I'm so sick of every person in power trying to obtain more and more and more power. It drives me insane. These aren't even humans they're just rotten bodies running unconsciously on primal instincts

Colonization is evil 'cause settlers have to displace and kill natives to colonize a place. I don't think we'll have that issue on Mars

There are so many, many ways it will cause problems. Unless humankind can get to a place where we realist it's just easier to work as a giant team and support one another then we're going to have a lot of trouble.. and we are so far from that. The reason they're all trying to get somewhere first is so they can claim the land/planet. There are no laws or rules outside Earth so they can take whatever they want, do whatever they want, create whatever rules and laws they want to. If we can't stop having war on Earth, just wait until we interplanetary conflict. Makes me sickkkk

Honestly this is the only reason I support the space programme.

Its the only way that governments willingly invest in scientific R&D for self-sustainability, energy efficiency & agri-science.

There actually are laws ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Outer_Space_Treaty ), and even if enforcing them there could be difficult, there are also laws here (what Grimes and Elon are complaining about), so although -- without a doubt -- some of these people want to make Space into a new Wild West... it's not going to happen.
