Good thing is Gaga has already rebranded herself in ways other artists from the 2010s have failed to, so you'll keep seeing her succeed in touring, movies, her catalogue being timeless, look how past songs that aren't singles are now resurfacing, etc...

Of course, but I see that as more something to expect when Gaga's in her 40's. She's still got many years of hit-making in her. Beyonce just had 2 recent #1's in the last 2 years in her 40's. Madonna's 4 Minutes went to #1 in most of the world when she was 50. Cher went to #1 with Believe when she was 52. Kylie's going through a renaissance at 56. It's still possible. Gaga's still not quite on Beyonce's level where she can put out an album, have one hit, have the rest of the album flop and still be widely hailed as a success. She needs to still be making consistent hits to do that. I just wish she had more demand for stadium touring like Beyonce, Taylor and even Pink has. She has all their talent and more, but still struggles to fill out as many stadiums as they can.

I just wish DWAS could go #1 so her fans could focus more fully on Disease. Disease is the song that needs the attention now. If DWAS can't go #1 next week, just leave it and move on. It's more important that she gets a #1 from her new album, not a stand-alone duet.

To even be that high on the world charts is actually an insane achievement. Especially in this era of music. Especially after such a long, already successful career. Holding her to the standard that she's expected to get number ones is insane. She doesn't have to have the most listened to song in the world to be successful   even where she is right now is extremely successful in the big picture

It is possible but ur kinda listing the rare exeptions a lot more than what typically happens. 

 

Women start to struggle to make hits after about 35 or 36 id say and men get away with age a little longer but also start to struggle by early 40s as well

 

Its an agist industry. Success isnt impossible but it is harder and Gaga is now entering that phase. I think user makes a point we need to start having new standards in our expectations

 

Also you mentioned Kyles resurgence but shes certainly not going #1 or even top 10. Already proof when you adjust expectations to an artist being at an advanced stage of career you can still see success where a new it girl would be called a flop

Why everybody cares about a ranking based on people who just decided Trump is their best option? F*ck off that toxic Hot100. Can we f*cking pay more attention to global charts?

Thinking US charts are the best thing ever already p*sses me off, but days like these even more.
