Teletubby 134,288
“Joker: Folie à Deux” plunged to the No. 12 spot in its fourth weekend of release, collecting a $600,000 from 1,243 venues. The follow-up to 2019’s billion-dollar hit “Joker” has turned into a box office disaster with $57.8 million domestically. Estimated international total stands at $143.3M, estimated global total stands at $201.1M. By comparison, the original “Joker” remained in the top two for five weeks and powered to $335 million domestically and $21.07 billion worldwide. The $200 million-budgeted Warner Bros. sequel won’t get anywhere near those grosses and is poised to lose $150 million to $200 million in its theatrical run. 1. ShayCristoforo 10,511
Honestly the movie is not bad. There are a couple storytelling issues, but it doesn’t deserve to be panned. Continued story about trauma and delusion (with music). I don’t know what everyone was expecting. Some great moments and performances. Get the pinot ready, because it's turtle time.
Morphine Prince 102,074
This movie isn't even getting to $200M, truly a huge flop.

"Some great moments and performances" is not enough for an overly long sequel to a beloved film. The thing is that if it didn't absurdly cost $200m (just a reminder that the first one was ca. $60m), it wouldn't have mattered that it underperformed, and there wouldn't be that much disastrous press around it. It's the outrageous financial blunder that is the real enduring story here, not just Todd's creative failure. 2

And I don’t think it was a creative failure, is my point. I personally enjoyed it, and would watch it again. Get the pinot ready, because it's turtle time. Anderson123 35,592
A huge disaster. The movie had it's issues but did not deserve to underperform this bad. Even people who watched it a couple of weeks later after the massive hate train were like "Wait it wasn't that bad". I also don't understand how the budget got to 200m when the first one was made with 55m. Edited October 27 by Anderson123

Doesn't make a difference with how horrible this movie performed.

It needs to be studied how bad they ****ed up after a $1B blockbuster. 1
danbekim 2,975
I don't think Gaga can come back from this. Her performance in this movie was marvelous, but once again wasted by a terrible movie. This happening right after her latest movie, House of Gucci which was also critically panned over all is no good. I hope she will act again, but in my personal opinion she needs to star in an indie or A24 produced film next. I feel terrible seeing her body of work get hated on by the general public, she deserves much better. If you have some rad remixes you made laying around, send it to me!! 63grekke 1,155
I’m just glad The Marvels is no longer the biggest flop sequel to a billion dollar movie anymore At least that movie was a fun time, had fun characters, and an actual plot lol

ShayCristoforo 10,511
It wasn’t as good as Chicago, but don’t you guys see a similar concept? The movie really wasn’t that bad. But yes, the budget was too irresponsible. Get the pinot ready, because it's turtle time.
