If I remember correctly, Stupid Love was also aiming for a way lower debut but then her team already opened the pre-order for Chromatica and the digital pre-orders counted towards the sales for Stupid Love as everyone who pre-ordered got the song which really boosted it's first week. Its just very clear some people see Gaga's value purely through charts & reviews. It was the exact same with the Harlequin mini era. We know a music video is coming. And rather than discussing possible theories based on the teaser, people are sat here going "why haven't we been given everything at once". No one here knows what is planned for this era. And yet we've had little chartsters making abusive comments about Gaga's team.
