You guys acted like Disease is flopping when it is not. So annoying. Her team still has cards to play and will play it to maintain the stability on the chart. Instead of complaining, you should just stream it constantly. One reason for the decrease is probably you're not streaming and just complaining. And on a Saturday it is always a decrease and her drop on the Spotify chart is only by 11 from #12 to #23, not huge at all. Stop being dramatic and asking her team to drop everything all at once which may increase the debut on the chart but also result in very short chart run, like Katy Perry and Dua Lipa. They have their strategies. Stop acting like you're the smartest. You're just anxious and I get it. You love Gaga but trust that her team and herself know what they're doing.

Who cares. This song is a BANGER and Gaga’s darker music isn’t exactly an easy pill to swallow unless you’re a hardcore Gaga fan.

THIS!

The problem with many of these arguments is that most of them seem to be fixated on the premise that if the song dropped at Midnight, the video needs to follow within 24 hours followed by weeks of live performances immediately after. Let me remind some of you newbies to the world of Little Monsters, Gaga = longevity. Stop worrying about right now and focus on long term. Most of ya'll forgot that Bad Romance--her literal biggest hit to date and most popular single--didn't have the video released until close to one month after.

Agreed.

Also, maybe controversial, but I don't see the point at all in deliberately inflating streaming numbers (such as by playing long playlists with Disease squeezed between 100 different songs).

What's the point?

If a song is going to be a hit, it will be a hit because of average people playing it a few times because they want to. And even if such manipulation does lead to the song charting a bit higher, it won't last and you're therefore just setting it up for an almighty fall.

There is NOTHING us fans can do to make the song a bigger hit than it's mean to be. It'll be a genuine hit if the GP at large like it. And if they don't... they don't.

Exactly, it’s not some big unknown that gaga doesn't make music for the charts. She could have done something completely different but she chose to listen to fan feedback and make the kind of music everyone was asking for. Idc what anyone says, the dark pop 2010’s sound we all love from gaga is dated and is going to perform as such. And thats okay with me. Because i like to hear it and i am a lady gaga fan.

Maybe the lyrics are too morbid for the GP? Dance In The Dark and Monster were dark tracks but they were easily digestible because they didn’t go over the top. Idk, I still have faith in this song

Ok so I know I just dropped a thread abt no negativity but...

Why she didn't decide to release the MV and physical copies is truly beyond me

This and something is not clicking with her newest songs, perhaps not relatable enough to the GP. The song is aggressive and has so many layers, not what people would want to listen on repeat. This is clearly a song meant for the core base and that's fine.

The video wont do jack ****. Gen Z dont watch the TV anymore. Some artists don't even do music videos now. Yes there is youtube but a music video is too long and wont grab their attention. Attention span these days is 2 secs.

Well to be fair though, I’ve heard many times that a lot of people haven’t even heard about the new Gaga song being out, and it still did well the first two days despite that fact, so if they are going to do promotion next week and after I would imagine it doing even better. I would start panicking if there is no promotion at all in the upcoming days.

Sugar, spice, and everything nice.

I got you, no harsh at all 😘. I will shortly explain you my thought: i became a fan of Lady Gaga because of Bad Romance. I was the GP before. Do we think Disease can make anybody in the GP a fan of her? I don't know and i hope so, but that's the key for me. Dwas is a huge hit, why? Because that song has everything, good lyrics, good sound, amazing chorus. Dwas is a hit for the GP. Disease, imo, is a song for us. We wanted back dark gaga and hard synths from the pop decade ago, nothing like it is in the radio rn. I am not mad at all about it, i love this! **** the GP but if the new gen wants to embrace this song and this era i will be happy af, if not i will still be happy af.

I can see tons of new fans coming because of this song —- Top 40 is incredibly mid tempo and pretty plain. I can see a lot of strange little queer kids feeling a sense of relief seeing this mainstream type of song after seeing Sabrina Carpenter - types dominate pop culture over the last year / 2 years. When GaGa released Just Dance and Poker Face I scoffed but then seeing her macabre Paparazzi performance at the VMA’s I felt seen and became a MASSIVE fan. Disease could do the same to Gen Z kids !

The DWAS video literally kickstarted its vitality on TikTok…GAGA’s dancing (and cigarette) is what started to drive the song upwards. Videos matter.
