GoldenNovember 644 Posted October 25, 2024 Share Posted October 25, 2024 How is it that half of you are complaining about Disease being too 'commercial' and the other half say it's so 'experimental' it won't be played on the radio? The clownery! You do know what Pop music is, right? It is, by definition, commercial. Anywaaaaaaay! The song is excellent! This is the quintessential Gaga sound I have been missing for quite a while. It's not that I disliked Chromatica, it is a fantastic record. But it lacked, at least to me, that Gaga spirit. Also, the past two lead singles were really poorly chosen. Perfect Illusion was nice, but nowhere near the strongest song on Joanne! And Stupid Love, while having become a favorite of mine, initially was really disappointing, especially if compared to other Chromatica tracks. Now Disease... THIS is what a lead single should sound like. Halloween vibes? I don't get them! Every opinion is valid, sure, but how can you be disappointed in a song that is SO GAGA, I mean... come on! Disease is a natural evolution of the Born This Way sound, not a step back, but a step forward with a nod to the past. Love it! It's hard to light a candle, easy to curse the dark instead.
