It’s treading new territory for her, while also nodding to her darker, electronic roots, which is GREAT news for me regarding the new album as I never really liked Gaga’s lighter efforts like The Cure, Stupid Love, AYO, Manicure etc (I remember absolutely hating Eh Eh way back in 2008, considering it a step down from Just Dance, Poker Face, and Beautiful Dirty Rich, I just didn’t have GGD, ATRL, or twitter to complain on). I almost wish they’d gone further and just released the strongest track even if it was unpalatable for your basic pop fan who is only capable of referencing as far back as 2016, with Avril, Pink, Miley and Olivia as their only ~hard rawk~ references 😆. I think and hope this is going to be an album that she’s genuinely getting creative with and not giving a toss what GP or radio thinks. This just has that “this is the the only palatable song” feeling to it as it feels so hard to even place in the pop landscape yet has a very chill, low key feeling about it unlike the chaotic polarizing cacophony of Perfect Illusion. LG7 is already one of my favorite Gaga albums. DON’T ASK ME TO RANK IT IT WOULD BE CRUEL BUT THIS IS DEFINITELY BETTER THAN BOTH PI AND STUPID LOVE (WHICH I LOVE). It's definitely a good song and it's not nearly as bad as some people are describing it to be. That said, it really is a grower. Even as I'm listening to it while I write out this comment, I'm picking up things in the production and her vocals that I appreciate more. This is definitely the electronic/rock/industrial pop sound that many people have wanted for so long and I find it kinda funny (but sad) that even as Gaga gives us exactly what we want, people still find a way to complain about it. It's also very much in the same vein as BTW (the album). I saw someone earlier in the thread say it sounds more like Joanne than BTW and I was like Girl, this sounds like it came straight out of BTW. I'm so excited to see the music video! I really think the visuals are going to bring it all together for me. It's just so good to be back in a Gaga pop album era. The visuals from the photoshoot look amazing too! i even saw someone said it's too Jazzy sounds like it was from Harlequin.... and he's not trolling....
