There was a person who had access to Tegan's private information and who pretended to be her online to catfish a lot of fans. Fans that just assumed they were building a personal relationship with Tegan. I had no idea this happened and is possibly still happening. They don't know who it was or why they were doing it as they were never asking for money from fans or anything.
