darkgaga 2,647
So, like many of you have by now, I have seen the movie and all the reviews and negative comments. And Imo you could draw quite some parallels between how Harley thinks about the Joker and how many fans think about Gaga. Harley was in love with the Joker. Not with Arthur Fleck. She loved the image, not the person. If we compare this, many “Little monsters” just want Gaga, the image, the bleeding, meat-dress-wearing person that screams that you have to put your hands up 50 times during a concert. But as soon as this image of Crazy-Gaga, Dark-Gaga, pop-Gaga dissappears, and she does jazz, or a movie, or is being down to earth, many fans leave or get mad… Even when Gaga released Harlequin last week, a lot of fans just got mad, because it is not LG7, pop-Gaga, which is gonna return within a few weeks. It is just crazy to me IMO it is quite interesting to see how many of you are Lee, and leaving Gaga as she did with Joker when she wasnt satisfied Edited October 6 by darkgaga

GreenEyes 612
I can see why she signed onto this film if this was the overall message they were trying to convey because yes I’m sure she relates to it. The message about fan culture is actually a good concept, just not executed well in this project.

I thought the message was really intriguing and the big Joker/Arthur question was a great setup for a courtroom drama. (Besides the ending). Within the Final Cut I saw so much potential and glimpses of a great movie - but its script and editing butchered it along with them not knowing how to execute a good courtroom drama. edit: And the whole toxic fan culture surrounding Gaga is so tiring! Like wtf? A new era is upon us and we should be celebrating! And I’m able to dislike the movie (a lot), love Gaga‘s and Joacquin‘s work, enjoy Harlequin and DWAS and look forward to LG7. You win some, you lose some - but in the end it’s all wins because we get to experience more Gaga and see her as happy as she hasn’t been in ages! /rant over Edited October 6 by tigerteeth
