Honestly the sound variations between the 2 aren't so pronounced that it matters to anyone who isn't being a little snobby about it. If you're using a basic record player then you aren't going to notice a difference unless the record is dirty/scratched/charged with static. If you have high end kit then you probably will notice the slight difference. But generally 180g black vinyl is better than 140g black vinyl. Most coloured vinyl is 140g generally but I don't notice a major difference between black & coloured vinyl unless the vinyl is split colour etc. The only vinyl that is absolutely worse is picture discs due to the picture being an extra layer. There can be new tracks as sellion points for fans, or just different covers, and different color for vinyl It's not just Target.
