Do we know if this estimate takes into consideration the Vinyl and CD sales from her website? Because I'm guessing they don't have access to those numbers, but I don't knowĀ :yennefer:

For this eligibility window I think they've been the only physical copies available (that would be counted) so I'd assume so

I know we're in the era of streaming, but I'm an old fart, and I fondly remember the days when the charts were based solely on sales.Ā

why the hell would you ever expect that much for a covers album of traditional pop songs (and JAZZ) that has no physical copies available outside of her store? :nooo: And surprise announced at that???

the enthusiasm is admirable but that was never realisticĀ :nooo:

Because Joanne did 201k, C2C a cover album did over 100k, and L4S did pretty okay despite it being all covers too. This has a whole single and the name halrequin tied to it, plus sheā€™s got DWAS pulling people in with her monthly listeners shooting up every day. the fact they wonā€™t click play on a single song on this album is crazy.Ā

I think this release has had odd marketing too. Especially after all the hype her team did saying they approached DWAS's release like an album. Well... Maybe the image, movie and overall sound don't click for the GP. I feel like a lot of people are passing these off as jazz covers when these songs are mostly pop standards that were legitimately popular to the masses in their time. A super popular recording artist releasing something like this should be a slam dunk for top 10.Ā

all three of those projects had months of pre-orders thoughĀ :smh:

you guys need to understand that there is more to the drop-and-go method of album release if you want big numbers. and Love for Sale did a fraction of what Cheek to Cheek did. It also doesn't help that JFAD is a box office bomb.Ā

all of those albums have had full promotional cycles and schedules, physical pre-orders and releases everywhere, multiple live performances and all sorts

HQ is just a little jazz cover album made for fun, it's not even being released through interscope like her other albums... just a tiny division of her own branch within interscope

the Target exclusive isn't even out yet and only one song has been performed once. can you guys please use some context before trying to compare it to releases backed by a major label? :saladga:

mother, what must i do?
