Lovato slides a carrot across a mandolin to slice it into crisp pieces. It’s early August, and we’re just over a month out from the release of her upcoming documentary, Child Star, which premieres on September 17 on Hulu. The film, Lovato’s directorial debut, is an exploration of two competing forces: the misery that seems to be inherent in being a child star and the intense ambition that has kept Lovato and others pursuing accolade after accolade. Moments in the film feel achingly personal, such as when Lovato asks other former child stars like Drew Barrymore and Christina Ricci if they, too, struggled with the price of fame, and if it affected them as deeply as it did her. (The resounding answer seems to be yes and yes.)

Genuine question, why is she still doing teen magazines? Or is it just a throwback kind of special edition?

It seems that the broader topic was child stars. Fame in young age. Well it's teen magazines trying to seem cool like they don't thrive on these drugged induced puppets lol. But its def interesting, different approach

Sadly i cannot take her seriously, tomorrow she will be a completely different person with a new narrative and not in a evolving way but more in a i’m trying anything way.

Okay, but how many times will she go back to beginning?

If she really wanna go back to basics, she should take a class from Xtina

This Is true but on s broader perspective this Is the syndrome of Hollywood web, want fame fame hurts. The public asks for me, the industry offers me drugs to keep me awake and smiling. I Need validation and cope without it, rehabilitstion and repeats but then you must find a cure everytime you comeback and a new narrative.

Itll Always be hypocrite because never really the actual Truth. Its Just a narrative. How many more times Will Gaga heal from her trauma and whatnot lol.

But yeah demi really Is Extreme in this

They looks stunning :holdmyhand:

I hope she found a way to heal from the damages that Hollywood caused them. Sadly few ppl mention their case when it come to talk about exemple of abuse on Hollywood young stars.

I'm here to take a break from university homeworks :/

I feel like this is very disrespectful to anyone that's ever struggled with anything. I think famous people do constantly have to cope with things and things haunt them. I still sort through a lot of my trauma and recognize triggers to this day, 10+ years after the traumatic events.

That said, I think Demi's bigger problem is how she constantly comes off as selfish and self-absorbed. There's a real lack of perspective and everything she ever talks about in her music and real life is herself.  Where is the acknowledgement of others' experiences?
